“To this day, no individual has affected my passion for music as much as Ms. Peng has.”

“When I approached Ms. Peng about teaching piano to my 8 year old son, who has Asperger’s/High Functioning Autism, she did not balk at the prospect, as some teachers had, but rather took it upon herself to research the best methods for teaching students with his neurological disorder. She designed an effective lesson format and established procedures from the very first lesson that would allow him to learn and improve to his best ability, in a comfortable and nurturing environment. His previous teachers had done their best to work with him, but with Ms. Peng, my son excelled and achieved greater skills with fewer conflicts and at a faster rate. She is upbeat and positive, smiles when offering suggestions for improvement, and does a great job of coordinating the theory with the performance lessons, which I believe makes the students better musicians in general. A year and a half later, my son absolutely ADORES her, even though she has high standards for performance and is exacting about technique, and he has progressed through several levels in his piano books. You cannot find a better teacher or a more committed and caring person than Ms. Yan Eva Peng. I recommend her highly!”

“Interested in playing the piano in any capacity: Beginner? Returning learner? Competitive learner? Bellus Music Studio has it all.
Our daughter took non-traditional piano lessons for many years. Unfortunately, she failed to advance in technique, music reading and learning theory and eventually lost motivation. After a break from lessons, she shared she wanted to continue to improve her skills. Now in high school with a busy schedule, I searched for a piano instructor in the northland that would accommodate online learning as needed. Bellus Music Studio was highly recommended. I contacted them, and the rest is history. Our only regret was how late in the game we found them.
The instructors at Bellus Music Studio are passionate and have each student’s best interests at heart. Ms Eva offered a free session. We came and visited with her for an initial assessment. She engaged my daughter, inquired about her piano music interests, and what she enjoys the most. My daughter played some of her favorite pieces and some of Ms Eva’s pieces. Ms Eva identified strength and weaknesses and immediately discussed with us her approach in getting our daughter up to speed, without starting from the ground up. This was an excellent confidence booster for my daughter. Ms Eva gained my daughter’s (and my) trust right away by indicating how she will advance her in her learning from where she was. The only question left was not if we would take lessons, but when we could start!
Ms Eva’s upbeat and positive approach is inspiring. Every single lesson! She has this energy…if you know your physics, you know… energy is transferred…she transfers energy to the students with a desire to learn and do better. On a few instances, I chose to attend a class with my daughter, just to experience Ms Eva’s energy… and of course, to support my daughter in her learning. The growth my daughter developed in terms of confidence and technique starting summer of 2023, with Ms Eva and Dr Olson were exponential and left our family in awe. Incredible. Not only did she start learning and enjoying, but to our surprise, she started attending highly regarded piano events, attending master concert pianists and getting feedback at events around town and out of town. My daughter just graduated high school and I am confident the foundation Ms Eva and Dr Olson instilled will serve her well in her future endeavors.”

“There were a lot of opportunities for me to perform in front of people - that boosts my presentation/performance skills which will really help me in the future. I also learned a lot of theory. Finally, we were given opportunities to do duets.”

“Liam came in the middle of the school year because his other teacher left the state. It was incredible how fast he adjusted to the new teaching method. His skills also improved in a very short time and I think his interest in music grew more.”

“Mrs. Eva Peng is an incredible piano educator and a perfect fit for my son. I have had the privilege of watching Mrs. Eva work with Isaac, and I can confidently say that her teaching approach goes far beyond simply instructing on playing/reading notes, but also music theory and the core foundation, technique, and musicality in performance. Mrs. Eva's pedagogy is rooted in a deep understanding of how students learn, allowing her to connect with each student individually and make learning a truly enjoyable experience.
What sets Mrs. Eva apart is the genuine, personal connection she fosters with her students. Isaac has flourished under her guidance not only because of the skills he has developed, but also because of the passion and love for music that Mrs. Eva instills in every lesson. By focusing on the student's interests and needs, Mrs. Eva encourages Isaac to explore the music that excites him, turning every lesson into an opportunity for creative expression and growth.
Rather than just focusing on performance outcomes, Mrs. Eva emphasizes the process of feeling the music and playing beautifully. This approach has helped Isaac build confidence in his abilities, even when faced with challenges. Through consistent encouragement, patience, and the ability to adapt her teaching methods to fit Isaac’s learning style, Mrs. Eva has helped him grow both as a musician and as an individual.
What stands out most to me is how Mrs. Eva inspires students like Isaac to truly enjoy making music—not just to play well, but to feel the joy of the art form itself. This approach has helped Isaac develop a lasting love for music, and I believe it will serve him throughout his musical journey and beyond. It’s clear that Mrs. Eva is not just a teacher, but a mentor who understands the importance of nurturing both talent and passion in Isaac.”

“Lucas progressed very quickly because Ms. Peng makes the lessons so fun and enjoyable. He was an award winner in a piano competition and received 5 points in the National Federation of Music Clubs. This was all possible because Ms. Peng focuses on teaching the importance of practice and technique. Lucas loves making beautiful music and performing at recitals. She really taught him how to enjoy and appreciate music.”
